Ankara – Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union
In an exceptional meeting on Monday, January 29, 2024, Turkish Minister of Trade Dr. Ömer Bolat received the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union at the Ministry headquarters in Ankara. The delegation included the Palestinian Ambassador to Ankara, Dr. Faed Mustafa, Union Chairman Of The Board Mr. Mazen Al-Hassasna, and members of the Board of Directors.
The meeting involved in-depth discussions on enhancing trade relations and strengthening economic ties between Turkey and Palestine.
Mr. Al-Hassasna expressed his gratitude to the Turkish minister and presented a comprehensive overview of the contributions made by both current and former board members of the Union in supporting the Turkish economy and advancing trade between the two nations and the world.
The discussions also touched on the challenges faced by Palestinian businessmen in Turkey and the future goal of establishing direct links between the Union and various departments within the Ministry. This would allow for regular updates on laws, regulations, and events issued by the Ministry.
Dr. Bolat, in turn, affirmed his full support for the Union and pledged to remove all obstacles hindering improved performance and increased trade volume. He also emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance economic cooperation and commercial relations between the two countries.
The Turkish Minister expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemned the Israeli attacks. He reaffirmed Turkey’s support for the implementation of international court rulings regarding genocide and emphasized the Turkish government’s efforts—led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan—to achieve an immediate ceasefire and deliver humanitarian aid. He also reiterated Turkey’s recognition of the State of Palestine.
This meeting comes amid significant regional developments and reflects the strong and growing relationship between Turkey and Palestine, with a focus on boosting economic and trade cooperation.
