test June 17, 2025 News 🔰 Delegation from the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Association Visits Başakşehir Mayor to Strengthen Mutual Cooperation As part of ongoing efforts to enhance economic and social relations between the Palestinian and Turkish communities, a delegation from the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Association paid an official visit to the municipality of Başakşehir in Istanbul, where they were welcomed by His Excellency Mayor Mr. Yasin Kartoğlu. The delegation was led by: – Mr. Mahmoud Al-Zagheer – Association President – Mr. Bassam Al-Haj – Head of International Relations – Mr. Ahmed Yılmaz – Financial Officer The visit aimed to explore cooperation opportunities and identify investment prospects that could support Palestinian entrepreneurs residing in Turkey. 🔹 The meeting began with a welcoming speech by Mr. Al-Zagheer, in which he introduced the delegation members and highlighted the Association’s journey since its founding. He showcased its major achievements and initiatives — foremost among them being support for Palestinian entrepreneurial projects and the strengthening of ties with official Turkish institutions. He also emphasized the strategic importance of the Başakşehir region as a vibrant investment location, making it an ideal environment for hosting Palestinian ventures. In response, Mayor Mr. Yasin Kartoğlu warmly welcomed the delegation, praised the Association’s role in strengthening ties between the two communities, and confirmed the municipality’s readiness to provide full support to Palestinian businessmen. This includes facilitating municipal procedures, offering consultations, and collaborating on joint social and economic initiatives. 🔹 As a symbolic gesture reflecting the depth of the relationship between both sides, a commemorative shield was presented by the Association to His Excellency the Mayor in recognition of his efforts and constructive cooperation in supporting the Palestinian community in Başakşehir. Also attending the meeting was Başakşehir District Governor Mr. Cemil Özgür Öneği, accompanied by an official delegation. PTBU Delegation Pays Official Visit to Istanbul Immigration Directorate May 30, 2025 News PTBU Delegation Pays Official Visit to Istanbul Immigration Directorate: Strengthening Institutional Cooperation and Addressing Issues Faced by Palestinian Investors As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration with Turkish authorities, a delegation from the Board of Directors of the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen’s Union (PTBU) , headed by Chairman Of The Board Mahmud Sughayer, paid an official visit to the Istanbul Immigration Directorate. They were received by Mr. Serdar Dal, Deputy Director General of the Immigration Directorate, along with several high-ranking officials. The visiting PTBU delegation included:– Mahmud Sughayer – Chairman Of The Board– Issa Ramazanoglu – Vice Chairman Of The Board– Ahmad Zatari – Finance Officer– Bassam Al-Haj – International Relations Officer– Ahmet Agaoglu – Public Relations & Media Officer At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Serdar Dal warmly welcomed the delegation and praised the PTBU’s constructive role in building bridges of cooperation and strengthening economic and social ties between the Turkish and Palestinian peoples. He emphasized the importance of such visits in fostering mutual understanding and direct dialogue. For his part, Mr. Mahmud Sughayer expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and appreciation for the ongoing efforts of the Immigration Directorate in facilitating matters related to foreign residents, particularly those affecting union members and Palestinian businesspeople. During the meeting, Mr. Sughayer introduced the delegation and gave an overview of the union’s accomplishments over the past fourteen years, highlighting successful efforts to support Palestinian investments and enhance economic presence. He also underlined PTBU’s role in developing institutional relationships between Palestinian and Turkish business communities. He further pointed to the union’s humanitarian initiatives in support of the Turkish people during times of crisis, notably:– The rehabilitation of a damaged school in Kahramanmaraş Province– The dispatch of a three-truck humanitarian aid convoy to earthquake victims following the February 2023 disaster — a gesture reflecting the deep brotherly ties between both peoples. The PTBU delegation also raised several pressing concerns faced by its members and other Palestinian entrepreneurs — especially regarding residency permits and immigration-related procedures — and called for flexible, law-abiding solutions that consider humanitarian and professional needs. Mr. Serdar Dal expressed his pleasure with the visit, reaffirming the special attention Turkish institutions give to Palestinian businesspeople. He promised full cooperation in addressing their challenges and emphasized the need to continue such coordination meetings in the future. A Delegation from the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union Participates in Important Meetings at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo December 20, 2024 News A delegation from the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union participated in important meetings held yesterday, Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo. These meetings were part of the launch of the “Hope for the Future Initiative,” which was sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. During the meeting, the Union’s Chairman, Mr. Mazen Al-Hassasna, emphasized the importance of this initiative, which addresses the needs of Palestinians, especially under the difficult conditions faced by the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing aggression. Al-Hassasna also highlighted the initiatives launched by the Union to support Palestinian students in general and particularly those studying abroad, praising the efforts made to advocate for their causes. He further commended the significant role of partners working in this field and affirmed the Union’s readiness to always be part of any effort supporting Palestinian university students, with its doors open to them. He stressed the absolute priority given to the reconstruction of universities and schools in the Gaza Strip. Also participating in the sessions was Dr. Issa Al-Khawaja, Head of the Public Relations Department at the Union, who underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation with international and regional institutions to support Palestinians in various fields. He called on everyone, especially Arab official levels, to work toward dismantling obstacles that prevent Palestinian students from completing their education in the Arab countries where they reside. During the visit, His Excellency Dr. Saeed Abu Ali, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League for Palestinian Affairs, received the Union delegation. Discussions focused on ways to develop the Union’s operational mechanisms and enhance its extensive international network of relations, as well as exploring the possibility of benefiting from the Arab League’s programs to support Palestinians in various sectors, including education. Regarding the “Hope for the Future Initiative,” it was confirmed that additional scholarships will be allocated to Palestinian students through cooperation with Stardom University and the American University in Sharjah, as a step to support Palestinian students abroad. It is noteworthy that this initiative comes at a sensitive time when the Palestinian people face significant challenges. These efforts aim to ensure the provision of educational opportunities and continuous support for future generations. The Second Palestinian National Economic Meeting in Istanbul December 20, 2024 News The Palestinian Minister of National Economy, Eng. Mohammed Al-Amour, met with the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union in the presence of dozens of Palestinian businessmen and traders. The meeting was also attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Turkey, Dr. Faed Mustafa, the Consul General Hanaa Abu Ramadan, Consul Moaz Al-Atshan, and the advisor at the Palestinian Embassy in Ankara, Rana Abu Siba’a. The meeting opened with a speech by the Chairman of the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union, Mr. Mazen Al-Hassasna, followed by remarks from the Ambassador, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the Embassy’s ongoing role in supporting the interests of the Palestinian people in Turkey. Minister Al-Amour discussed the new Palestinian procedures related to the import of Turkish goods. The meeting focused on ways to enhance economic cooperation and facilitate the entry of Turkish products into Palestinian markets. The Minister stressed the importance of this meeting in strengthening trade relations between Palestine and Turkey, highlighting the need to address the problems faced by Palestinian traders resulting from these procedures. All inquiries from Palestinian businessmen and traders involved in import and export were taken into consideration, especially regarding customs declarations and the export of goods from Turkey to Palestine. Several questions about customs procedures were raised to ensure the facilitation of trade exchange and to enhance the economic benefits for both parties. During the meeting, they discussed and reviewed the latest developments and initiatives related to Palestinian students in Turkey. The Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union Commends Turkey’s Support for Palestine’s Full Membership Request in the United Nations December 19, 2024 News Turkey’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ahmed Yildiz, reaffirmed his country’s steadfast support for Palestine’s request to obtain full membership in the United Nations during a meeting at the UN General Assembly. Ambassador Yildiz called on the international community to urgently address the Palestinian issue and highlighted the recent brutal attacks witnessed in Gaza. Turkey firmly rejected any military operation against the city of Rafah and any attempt to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land. Accordingly, the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union announces its strong endorsement and full support for Turkey’s decision to back Palestine’s bid for full membership in the United Nations, emphasizing the vital importance of this historic decision in supporting justice, human rights, and advancing peace in the region. A Series of Visits Conducted by the Board of Directors of the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union December 3, 2024 News As part of the series of visits conducted by the Board of Directors of the Palestinian-Turkish Businessmen Union, the Union’s Vice Chairman Of The Board, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Saghir, and Executive Secretary, Ms. Ranin Al-Zaanin, paid a visit today, Thursday, October 31, 2024, to Union members Mr. Bassam Al-Haj and Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Haj. The meeting included discussions about their ongoing work and projects in Turkey. Mr. Al-Saghir spoke about the Union’s role in providing initial and continuous support to Palestinian businessmen and enhancing cooperation opportunities among members across various economic and investment fields.
